Each PAX was assigned 2 (or 3) exercises corresponding to one of the 12 Days of Christmas. When it got to their number they called it out and we did the exercises the same way the song does. I provided the significance of each day/gift in light of the legend of this song being used to teach catechism (ie: 3=trinity, 9=fruit of the spirit; 12=points of belief in the Apostles Creed). 1- Sprint to half-field and back

A Festivus for the Rest of Us!

THE THANG: PAX gathered around in a circle to learn the true meaning of Festivus: a non denominational holiday filled with one sided ridicule and mindless physical tests of strength.

The tradition of Festivus began with the Airing of Grievances:
The QIC had a lot of problems with a select few PAX, and now they were going to hear about it! The PAX assumed the forward leaning rest position while QIC barked the ways in which they had disappointed him over the past year. After each name was read, and an appropriate insult hurled, a burpee was performed. Many grievances were had and legend has it that the QIC’s heart grew 4 sizes that day. QIC decided it was time to let the PAX reciprocate with their own airing of grievances. That was a poor decision……it was decided that all of us need to work a little more on 5:30am our comedic chops. As Festivus rolled on, we came to the Feats of Strength:
PAX lined up midfield. Each PAX took turns carrying the festivus pole midfield to the goal line and back. The remaining PAX performed a number of exercises while waiting their turns: Star Jumps, LBC’s, Heisman Shuffle, “Where am I’s”, Fast Feet/Get Downs, Bonnie Blair’s, Break Dancers, Jump Squats. 1Each PAX traveled 2x
Mosey to the playground. 3 roads of Pull ups, Soccer kicks, Peter Parkers, Dips.
Mosey, with a brief lunge walk, over to the concrete blocks. 15 box jumps. Jog back to the field. Goal line bear crawls out to the mid field to revisit the Festivus Pole. MARY: Flutter Kicks, Nolan Ryans
