Donovan & Bank – $20,000 raised to help United States Special Operators bring closure to their warrior story and transition to a life of peace, contentment and balance. The Foundation accomplishes its mission through a variety of transition assistance services delivered through interrelated, mutually supporting programs, including career transition workshops and access to innovative wellness treatments for traumatic brain and stress injuries.

Miriam’s Kitchen – Rachel Glassman, Director of Partnerships, asked F3 to help assemble seasonally appropriate care boxes to distribute to the homeless of Washington DC. We assembled into competitive teams. At the final whistle, 306 total care boxes were packed in 15 minutes, 28 seconds – a new Miriam’s Kitchen record! F3 also raised $3,000 dollars for the supplies used in the care boxes.
Miriam’s Kitchen utilizes a comprehensive approach to eliminating the housing crisis in Washington, D.C. especially for homeless veterans. Through engaging our guests with healthy, made-from-scratch meals, we connect them with personalized social services that assist them with rebuilding their lives. Beyond our intensive program offering, we regularly engage community leaders and elected officials who fiercely advocate on our guests’ behalf.
Rachel has an open invitation to anyone in F3 who would like to stay involved with Miriam’s Kitchen. Individuals can sign up to volunteer in their kitchen and dining room, volunteer with the George Washington University Grow Garden (https://gwserves.givepulse.com/group/297073-GroW-Garden), sign up to run/walk the Run 4 MK (happening 11/11), and/or support them financially.
