Summer is winding down. Time to get in some play time while we still can. It starts with a soccer ball to while away the 90 seconds between arrival and the beatdown. And just keeps getting better. For example…

WARMUP: SSH, imperial walkers, hillbillies, moving mosey/high knees/butt kickers etc, Michael Phelps, cherry twist, Willie Mays Hayes, down dog, cobra kai THE THANG:
Part 1: catch me if you can. PAX 1 runs backwards while PAX 2 does 3 perfect merkins then runs to catch PAX 1. Flap jack. Then it’s crawl bear vs. 3 perfect merkins and bear crawl. That seemed popular. Flap jack. Then repeat round 1 but with 5 Bobby Hurleys. Then repeat round 2 but with 5 Bobby Hurleys. Everyone appeared warm.

Part 2: Blind Bear Bingo. Starting at the goal line, bear crawl to the 10… eye closed. For every yard you miss, 1 burpee penalty. Repeat from the 10 to the 30. Repeat from the 30 to the far 40. Repeat from the 40 to the goal line.

Part 3: PAX form 3 teams and return back to the other line by 1 PAX holding plank. The next PAX runs to their hands, broad jumps, then holds plank. When the next PAX jumps, the next PAX can leave for their turn and the first PAX returns to the goal line.

Part 4: 10 minutes of F3 Ultimate.

COT: Our oldest child is leaving for college, so it had to be about that. The weird thing in the last week is the realization that there’s been this really long windup, and she is ready. Waiting longer isn’t going to make it any easier on us or make us miss her any less. So I’m kind of ready to go now, too. When change happens, try to embrace it.
