Air Bags Deployed

WARMUP: SSH, Imperial Walkers, Arm Circles (forward & reverse), Don Quixote’s, Willie Mays Hays, Cherry Pickers, Downward Dog (partially, until we heard the tires screech)
THE THANG: Downward Dog was immediately interrupted by a serious car crash at the corner of Quincy & Washington Blvd. The PAX called 911 and rushed over to the scene to see if we could be of any further assistance. Luckily, both parties involved were physically ok. However, the two vehicles were in bad shape, one of which was completely totaled with all air bags deployed. The PAX stuck around for awhile and waited for the ACPD and Fire/EMS…and waited….and waited. To pass the time we did 30 burpees in unison and ~25 copper head squats until one police officer showed up. After zero solicitations for us to provide any witness accounts, we felt it was best to head over to the football field. A truncated beatdown ensued:
2 rounds of pull ups 10-20 reps each while the other PAX performed merkins, squats, shoulder taps, break dancers, wall sits, balls to the wall. 1 lap of Ricky Bobby around the track.
Back to the goal line: broad jump to the 10, perform 10 merkins, murder bunny to the 20, 10 merkins, bear crawl to the 30, 10 merkins. Back peddle to the goal line. Rinse and repeat.
Goal line. Follow the leader. Ran laterally tracing each 5 yard line, side shuffle at sideline, alternated between sprints, high knees and karaoke’s on the straight aways.

COT: Life is fleeting. It can be taken away from us at any moment. The accident we witnessed this morning could have been a lot worse. It could have happened to any of us, a loved one, a friend, co-worker, etc. It was another reminder for us to appreciate and value every moment.
