Today is face your fears day. These are some of YHC’s most feared exercises.

6 minutes of Presses & Squats w/ bonus
1st minute – Overhead coupon press
2nd minute – Coupon squat
Repeat for 6 minutes then, by demand of the PAX in attendance, we performed a bonus of 10 overhead press and 10 coupon squats.

Burpee / Suicide Pyramid going to the 5/10/15/20/15/10/5 yard lines
Run from goal line to respective yard line and back. Each time you return to the goal line, do the number of burpees that corresponds to the yard line you just ran to. 80 burpees in all.

PAX Coupon Pull Through to the 50
High Plank shoulder to shoulder, starting on the goal line. Using 3 coupons, we performed a coupon pull through from goal line out. After pulling all 3 of the coupons to the next PAX, run to to the front of the line and repeat until reaching the 50 yard line. The we repeated the whole thing back to the goal line.

11s with Blockies and Thrusters
Start with 10 Blockies & 1 Thruster
End with 1 Blockie & 10 Thrusters
Good times were had by all.

Today is “Face Your Fears” day. We all have fears: confrontation, financial fears, sickness, death. But trying to avoid a fear instead of facing it almost always makes it worse. YHC puts off difficult conversations at work and at home, telling myself that I can address the situation tomorrow. Days can quickly turn to weeks or years and the problem remains unresolved. Usually the conversation turns out to be not that difficult – and even when it is as difficult as anticipated, its better to get it over with than to let it linger. What are you putting off out of fear? Get up the courage today to meet it head on. And remember, like this workout, you don’t have to face it alone.

Round 1 – run to the goal line and back.
100 kettlebell swings

Round 2 – crab walk to 30 and run back

Round 3 – burpee every 10 yards to 50 and back
100 calf raises
100 merkins across the block
Part Deux (Hightower Q)
PAX circled up and held a squat, split into 1’s and 2’s
1’s lined up on the goal line and ran backwards to the 30.
when they got to the 30, 2’s start chasing them.
Proceed to other goal line, then switch roles.
Did this about 3 times there and back, each time cycling who was chasing who. MARY:

hamilton Slam Ballz

WARMUP: Stretching followed by some sprints
THE THANG: Tried out some new exercises with slam balls. Threw them, lifted them, and threw them at each other. Invented Thurpees – throw the ball, do a burpee. Pax alternated exercises while the two slam balls were in use. MARY: American hammers, Vups, and Merkins with the balls.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: hamilton will be regular time next Monday 10/14 despite the federal holiday. The grunt Saturday 11/9 convergence event at 0700 for workout + tour of war memorials.
COT: It’s good to experiment sometimes and see what works. For example, throwing weighted balls at each other in the dark didn’t work. But Mary Balls was effective. Fail fast.
