I have been a media-holic. Seemingly innocent videos on my phone have become my escape from the world, my drug to numb my mind, my unhealthy coping mechanism for stress. How it has affected my life has kept me from being the man, husband, dad, employee, and friend I am called to be. As they would say in F3, my addiction has kept me living in survival mode or as a sad clown. So with Jesus’ help, I am cutting out this eye so that I may have life and fulfill my calling, which F3 says is to be a servant. My life isn’t about just me.

My daughter and 5th grade classmates put on a poetry tea yesterday. They worked at it for months and their hard work paid off because it was truly incredible. Each read a poem they wrote themselves and the beauty of each poem was amazing. The acted out several poems (Casey at the bat was my fave) and it brought tears to many of the parent’s eyes to be witnesses to our babies somehow being full grown kids when clearly they were just born yesterday. I enjoyed it immensely as most appeared to as well.

Secondly, Ron Barkdell of FARA was so insanely inspiring at the convergence this past weekend. What a life lived!
