The Q was pretty excited when he arrived this morning to find Rambler waiting for a beatdown. Not only that, but with an FNG in tow. Wait, there’s more. And a DR PAX, Den Mother from the Chicago area was ready to go as well. So we mosey onto the field to warm up. Then it got weird.

7 PAX spent 45 minutes doing all kinds of nonsense on the turf field at the General, and the inventory of possibly-carcinogenic rubber pellets carried away? Zero. This new turf is going to take some getting used to.

The theme of the day was making it count, and the PAX made it count. Or the Q made them count. Or something, there was a lot of counting. We pulled an oldie-but-goodie out of the closet.

WARMUP:
SSH, imperial walkers, hillbillies, michael phelps, tempo squats, cherry pickers, downward dog

THE THANG:
This was the Millienium workout, colloquially known today as the “800 workout.”
PAX lined up on the goal line. Ran 100 yards and did 100 reps of an exercise. The group was done whenever any PAX reached 100. Then run back to the original goal line and do a set of 8 burpees. Repeat with a new exercise. The exercises were: 1. Merkins
2. Monkey humpers
3. LBCs
4. Lunges (easy way)
5. Flutter kicks IC
6. OH press
7. SSH
8. Burpees (PAX split into two groups and alternated sets of 10. When any PAX reached 10, they were done. For a total of 100 burpees.) (total of 106 burpees if you did the max, in case you’re counting)

MARY: Out of time, but we did 100 LBCs and 100 flutter kicks

COT: The Q’s M did this with him, so he shared with the group. We had a long strip of paper with the numbers 1-100, probably 3 ft long. The average age in the group is around 50, so we tore the paper in half. The average life expectancy for a US male is 72 years. If you’ve made it to 50 its around 79. We tore the paper there. What was left is the time we have left in this world. It can be easy to go through the motions. Make your days count. Whether that’s focusing on your family and friends, helping people, tackling your bucket list, or whatever you may choose, make it count.
