COT: YHC shared story…
It was a glorious year..2010 when the Clover Hill Thunder won the 12/13 year old rec league championship in Frederick, Maryland.

YHC coached with friend Matt Plasket and set up a wicked full course press playing to the strengths of their team of kids who did not make the middle school team and were mostly soccer players. :slightly_smiling_face: As they say..defense wins championships.

The story behind the story was that Coach Plasket was fighting Parkinson’s Disease with rather severe tremors starting and having difficulty communicating verbally. However, he leaned in to the assignment, always showing up with a game plan and gaining the respect of his team.

Coach fought a valiant fight against the disease and died in December of last year. His son Edward will get married this weekend and YHC will attend and stand with the Mighty Thunder once again and honor Coach’s legacy.

Message: Life with young kids is tough. Competing demands, fatigue, etc…..but our kids are watching. We may not be perfect and feel inadequate leading/coaching, but it is worth it. Lean in..the prize is worth it.
