Project Zawadi

Project Zawadi’s (https://projectzawadi.org/) mission is to ensure Tanzanian children have access to a quality education as a human right.

The team at Project Zawadi is committed to a student-centered model supported by three program areas:

1) The Student Support Program ensures equitable access to education for vulnerable populations. Students are selected by teachers and village leadership based on need.

2) The Model Schools program works to ensure students have a productive day at school by pooling knowledge and resources to address infrastructure, school leadership, girls’ empowerment, and student hunger.

3) Tenda Teachers is a professional development program that promotes evidence-based teaching and learning strategies for teachers.

These strategies encourage students to think critically and creatively. In 2024, the Tanzanian government selected the Tenda Teachers program to scale to all 20,000 teachers across the country.
