THE THANG: First of all, the Advance Team apologizes for overestimating the quality of the field’s drainage. We did a series of Bear Crawls of approx 20 yards, followed by a set each of Merkins (20), WWII (Q lost count because of engaging in mumble chatter), and air squats, then run back. Then: “Booking Catch Me If You Can,” Partner I does 5 burpees while Partner II lunge walks, then Partner 1 runs to catch up, switch; do this down the field. Sprint Back, with a special 2.0 vs. 1.0 showdown for Legacy/Heiress which was a tie! Then, a DORA, 57 Burpees, 157 LBCs, 157 Squats, and 57 Merkins. Followed by Ultimate! Point-winning team led various exercises. I just hope both teams had fun. MARY: Done in THANG

Q set up cones in triangular shape 30 yds apart. PAX took turns starting at goal line and sprinting to cone 1, bear crawl to cone 2, sprint back to goal line. While not doing that, all other PAXs were doing the following exercises below of each song while doing 1 burpee when Christmas was mentioned in the song, 1 merkin when Winter was mentioned in song, and cut merkin (merkin + LBC) when Bell was mentioned in the song. PAX appreciated the instrumental songs 🙂 Song 1 – Gorilla squats
Song 2 – Mtn climbers
Song 3 – SSHs
Song 4 – Air squats
Then moseyed 1 lap around the track to rinse and repeat for second round.

Bear crawls was a lot so modifed by switching to Gorilla squat-skips every other song.

Do the following exercises starting with just 1 for the first round, and then 2 and 1, then 3, 2, and1, etc for each following round until we get to 12. After each round, sprint 30m out and back. 1 Squat-Reverse Lunge each leg (A partridge in a pear tree) 2 Carolina Dry Docks (Two turtle doves)

CoT:
Shared a brief story about David Goggins, a super athlete, when he was overweight and out of shape. One night he was eating doughnuts on his couch when he saw an ad for the Navy Seals and wondered how it would feel to be like them. Suddenly, he had an epiphany: not only would he join up, but, he said to himself: “I am DONE seeking purpose in comfort.” In other words, no longer would he seek out comfort, but discomfort, since no one ever accomplished anything great by trying to be comfortable.

We recalled the Blue Pill or Red Pill Moment from the movie “The Matrix” (https://youtu.be/zE7PKRjrid4). The Blue Pill is the choice of the easy, false life society would have us live. The Red Pill is the choice of the hard, true life of the high impact man (HIM).
The challenge is to choose the Red Pill and to keep taking it every day: The Daily Red Pill or DRP. This is how we fight back at what is trying to drag us down in life.

Many great people have embraced discomfort to achieve success. Tony Robbins starts each day by jumping full body into a tub of ice water. We don’t have to get a tub of ice water, but getting up early and coming out in the dark, cold morning for a beat down is equivalent. It is uncomfortable to the extreme, and it is a great way to train your brain to accept discomfort to achieve success.
