thegeneral No Sir, What?

Date: 2024-03-05
AO: thegeneral
Q: Lazlo
PAX: Hobbyhorse, Fairweather, SAAS, Spud, Popeyes, citrus, Tibs, Apples, Toolbox FNGs: None
COUNT: 10
The Q was worried it might be a cold, wet morning. Then Popeyes showed up, and it was clear things would get spicy. The PAX collected an assortment of coupons and made their way to the parking garage so the Q wouldn’t mess up his hair in the rain.

WARMUP: SSH, imperial walkers, hillbillies, Michael Phelps, cherry pickers, Willie Mays Hayes, down dog, world’s greatest

THE THANG:
Part 1:
-PAX lined up at one end of the parking garage. There was a bit of a Sharks vs. Jets vibe going as we split to go down different ramps. We were the Sharks, in case you were wondering. Farmer’s carry w/o changing hands, appx 100 yards. -5 No SurManmakers (No Surrender + Manmaker, 8 count cadence) -rifle carry back to start
-10 Bonnie Blairs (hard way)
-Farmer’s carry, other hand, 100 yards
-15 coupon thrusters
-rifle carry back to start
-20 windshield wipers (leg lift over the coupon, in cadence)

Repeato, but second round was OYO.

Part 2:
PAX partnered up for Catch Me If You Can. PAX 1 leaves via the Coupon Crusher (aka the Murder Bunny, which is hard on coupons when executed in a concrete parking garage, it turns out). PAX 2 does 10 curls and rifle carry to catch up. Flapjack. Continue until the PAX reach the other side (100 yards)

MARY: flutter kicks, American Hammers, toy soldiers, slow dirty dog

ANNOUNCEMENTS: None!

COT: The importance of Novelty. It helps physically to break out of your routines (which we do well, I think), but we also get complacent mentally. Sometimes it can help. When you lose a loved one or go through some other trauma it hurts, but you eventually get used to it. The problem is that happens with the good things in your life, too. One component of gratitude is simply noticing. Take a minute to appreciate the things around you, and try to break your mental habits that keep you from enjoying them.

delphi Dora trains in the Raun

Date: 2024-03-05
AO: delphi
Q: Pop Fly
PAX: Blue Steel, Crop Duster, Mounthe, Megatron, Obadiah, Juneau, Rocket FNGs: None
COUNT: 8
WARMUP: It was a good and proper warm up

THE THANG: Pax got right to it and grabbed their coupons to complete 5 rounds of 10 Squat thrusts with 30 seconds of rest in between.

After an easy mosey lap, the Pax got to the good stuff. And her name was DORA.

Pax partnered up. Partner A had the coupon and was required to run to the 50yd line and back with the coupon. The switch with Partner B who was doing the work. No music played so Pax could appreciate the sound of the rain.

The Work:
100x Merkins
200x Lunges
300x Big Boy Sit Ups
400x Calf raises

Pax then performed active recovery via the wall sit with some bear crawls thrown to round it out.

MARY: Not needed

ANNOUNCEMENTS: No one had nothing

COT: The Q talked about hunger and the desire to win during competition and how he doesn’t often see it in today’s youth. About how his son’s hockey team got bounced from the playoffs in one of the worst performances he’d ever seen. But the kids didn’t seem to care. The desire to prepare to win wasn’t there. It wasn’t the outcome they wanted, but it was the outcome they absolutely deserved.

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.

Matthew 6:24

With life in the messy middle, keep your eyes and hearts focused in the right place, towards God the Creator, and the other things will start to fall into place.
