PAX: Jenner, Sparky, Ghosted, Old Bay, Big Short, Checkers, Defiance, Bone, 2 percent, Poe FNGs: None
COUNT: 11
WARMUP: nope, in the 40s

THE THANG: :softball:

MARY: your mom said she’d buy us ice cream after the game :icecream:

COT: another winless season, but maybe the real wins were the friends we made along the way :smiling_face_with_3_hearts:

ANNOUNCEMENTS: It’s been a real joy running this team for two seasons. Maybe it didn’t work out entirely like I hoped, but every game had some great moments, and I’ll remember it fondly.

I’m looking for a new Site Q to run the team, if y’all want to keep this going. I’m happy to share all my Google templates, etc, the team pretty much runs itself at this point.

Competition-wise, we’re obviously outclassed, and there’s not a lot of options; there’s no “beginner league”. BUT, on the website I see they’re trying to organize a 35+ “low intensity” league in the spring. So my opinion, if there’s interest, is we submit a roster for that league, and if there’s enough teams, great, and if not, we just hang up our gloves and invade balls-of-fury

atlantis Veterans Day & Dora

Date: 2024-11-12
AO: atlantis
Q: Infinity
PAX: Hammer, Forceps, Deflator, Hammerhead, SAAS, True North, Bratwurst, Windtalker, Doogie Howser FNGs: 1 Doogie Howser
COUNT: 10
WarmUp: Imperial Walkers, Beet Pickers, Copperhead Squats, Rockettes, Mountain Climbers, Chinooks, and Mosey

The Thang: The following rep schemes match the percent each of the total 19 million veterans alive today served in each conflict. • 1 Balls to Wall for WWII
• 5 Burpees for Korea
• 31 T-Claps, IC, for Vietnam
• 41 Squats for Gulf Wars
• 22 Merkins for Peacetime

Mosey to the Nationals Stadium stairs for Dora variations:
– 100 Merkins, two teams competerively
– 200 Squats, two teams cooperating
– 300 T-Claps, pairs working cooperatively

Mosey back to start

Mary: Alternate btw WWI (knees bent) and WWII (knees straight) sit-ups, 10 at a time until we reach 100.

Announcements: Deflator has Q next week. Turkey Trot 5k at Olympus Thanksgiving Day. 0600 workout at Atlantis on Black Friday.
CoT: Only 6.2% of Americans are veterans. This percentage is dwindling as those generations under conscription pass away. Further, Americans’ willingness to sign up for the military has been decreasing, requiring better incentives from the Government. As a result, veterans are becoming more scarce in our society. My challenge to you is to reach out to a veteran, and rather than simply thanking them for their service, ask them about their service. That way, you will learn something and provide an actual meaningful experience for the veteran.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: The Grunt 2025

COT: YHC was away from F3 for a month. It was a tough month. YHCs middle child had a setback which took a toll on the family. This is not the first setback, but it wrecked YHC. For a month YHC had many sleepless nights and was missing all the components of F3. We all face struggles, and for those who pray, the tendency (including YHC’s) is to pray for the struggle to be taken away. YHC was reminded of the saying “Pray not for a lighter load, but for a stronger back.” In the gloom of F3 we are strengthening our backs physically, mentally, and emotionally. We are doing this so when we leave the field we can become better men for our families and our communities. The next time you face a struggle consider praying not for a lighter load, but for a stronger back. YHC thanked the men for coming out in the gloom. Great work men!
